Is named after Hilaire Belloc, the Anglo-French historian and writer who stayed at the George in 1902.
His famous book The Four Men, starts, “as I was sitting in the George, at Robertsbridge, drinking that port of theirs and staring at the fire”.
Hilaire has warm earth tones, antique furniture, king size bed, and en suite with a monsoon shower. Its travertine tiles provide rustic elegance, and the heated mirror and warming towel rail ensure it is cosy and bright.
