"Welcome to The George"

Proudly standing in the heart of the village of Robertsbridge, The George is a dog-friendly 18th-century coaching inn offering good, honest food and drinks made with the best local suppliers we can get our hands on.

With four comfortable bedrooms and easy access to Hastings, Battle and Royal Tunbridge Wells, The George makes a relaxed base for exploring both Kent and Sussex. We’re surrounded by National Trust properties, beautiful gardens including Great Dixter, Sissinghurst and Sarah Raven’s cutting garden, as well as plenty of countryside, coast and characterful villages, the 1066 coastline included.

Whether you’re here for a wander, a weekend away or just a decent pint and a plate of something properly cooked, we’re very happy to have you. After the last few years, sometimes a simple escape and a warm welcome is exactly what’s needed, and that’s what we aim to offer.

We have our own car park directly in front of the pub, with additional free parking available on the High Street. Robertsbridge train station is a ten-minute walk away, with direct links to London Charing Cross, Royal Tunbridge Wells, Battle, Rye and Hastings. Cyclists are always welcome too, with a bike rack at the front of the building and secure storage available for overnight stays.

Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome throughout the pub, and there’s always a bowl of fresh water ready.

We look forward to welcoming you to The George. If you have any questions at all, just give us a call - we’re always happy to help.
